Town of Valdinievole, it spreads on the plain and on the low hill: breaking away from the Eastern slopes of Montalbano it extends as far as "Padule di Fucecchio" (Marsh of Fucecchio), included the "Paduletta di Ramone" (Little Marsh of Ramone), which is divided from the main marsh through the "Bosco di Chiusi" (Wood Of Chiusi). In the past the Commune of Larciano had mainly agricultural activities, but since the 70s it has been stepping up the yielding handicraft, and particularly the production of home-materials (brooms, brushes, clothes, mules, wrappings, plastic objects etc.), and it has been gaining huge importance at national and international degree. Despite of this transformation, the agriculture is still very important, and its main products are wine and olive oil. In proportion to the economic rise the town has preserved a strong tie with the rural world, retaining its values and traditions.
